Welcome to our first electronic CONNECT newsletter

A Message from Steve Vitone CEO

Keeping in touch is very important, it can help you deal with stresses in life. Having close connections can make you feel included and cared for. Here at Carers NT we have an amazing team who are available to support you in your caring role.

This new electronic newsletter will be distributed regularly throughout 2022 and will allow us to keep you informed of what has happened, what is coming up and how you can get involved.

On 17 December 1992 Carers NT was formed, so we are now entering our 30th year of providing support to carers in the Northern Territory. Over the years how these services are provided has changed, and this is determined primarily by our funders, however most importantly through our employees we can confidently say that regardless of the type of service provided there is always a friendly, understanding person on the other end of the line, who will go above and beyond every time for a carer who is reaching out for support.

The organisation also provides support to clients in Aged Care through their Commonwealth Home Support Plan in Darwin, Katherine, Ramingining and will operate a Day Respite Centre in Humpty Doo in 2022.

We are a Registered Provider under the NDIS, and with our Nhulunbuy Operations recently opening an office right in the centre of town, we anticipate that services will continue to expand into the very remote regions of the Northern Territory.

We have had a tough past couple of years and have had to use a lot of ingenuity to identify ways that we could continue to provide services through the pandemic, which unfortunately continues to trouble us all.  Let’s hope that we can get back to some sense of normality soon.

We are always looking to expand our services and now have locations in Alice Springs, Darwin, Humpty Doo, Katherine, Ramingining & Nhulunbuy.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, and blessings for what 2022 may bring to you.

At this time of year, we all struggle with the realities of what we don’t have, but I urge you to look deep within and focus on the positives. Remember this is meant to be a time of peace, love & joy, take some time to reflect on happy memories.

Sincerely

Steve
