Caring for another person at a young age is a highly rewarding experience, allowing young carers to gain skills and form meaningful relationships. However, it can have a detrimental impact on a young person’s health and well-being. This year, in particular, has been a tough year for many young carers across the country. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect their health and well-being, as well as a young carers loved ones. Studies suggests that young carers are already vulnerable to social isolation, financial and educational disadvantage, unemployment and poor physical and mental health.
