The reach and connectivity of one of Australia’s key online mental health peer support services is set to increase today with the launch of the integration of the SANE Forums into the Carers NT website.
Aboriginal Women Create Mindfulness App in Language
Teaming up with the producers behind mindfulness app Smiling Mind, women from Central Australia's NPY Women's Council have helped create recorded meditations in Kriol, Ngaanyatjarra and Pitjantjiatjara languages to bring outback meditation to the world. The aim is to help combat mental health and trauma issues in Aboriginal communities, particularly among young people.
Carers NT Chief Executive Officer Steve Vitone has congratulated all finalists in the NT Government Young Carers category of the Territory’s Young Achiever Awards, saying that in his eyes they are all winners for the contribution they make towards their families and the community.
